David Nylund, PhD, MSW
is an associate professor of social work at California State University, Sacramento and a clinical supervisor at La Familia Counseling Services and the Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center. David is the co-editor (with Craig Smith) of Narrative Therapies with Children and Adolescent and the author of Treating Huckleberry Finn: A New Narrative Approach with Kids Diagnosed ADD/ADHD. His latest book is Beer, Babes, and Balls: Masculinity and Sports Talk Radio and is published by SUNY Press.

In addition to publishing various articles and book chapters on narrative therapy, media and cultural studies, David presents his work throughout North America, Europe, and Japan. He is an acclaimed international expert in the following areas:

David holds academic degrees from Michigan State University (Criminal Justice); California State University (Master of Social Work); and the University of California, Davis (Cultural Studies). Dave is a Certified Trainer of CDOI with the Institute for the Study of Therapeutic Change. He enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, dancing, and watching his beloved Detroit Tigers.

Julie Tilsen, MA
is a therapist, consultant and trainer noted for her breadth and depth of clinical experience. She provides training and consultation to a variety of youth serving and community-based agencies. Highly regarded for her creative and interactive teaching style, Julie is known for her ability to integrate theory and practice in accessible, meaningful ways. Julie publishes articles on a variety of topics and conducts qualitative research on therapy outcomes and practitioner experience.

Julie is in high demand throughout North America where she is known for her expertise in the following areas:

She is a Certified Trainer of CDOI with the Institute for the Study of Therapeutic Change. Julie is into her MINI, Gopher women's hockey, and planning her next tattoo.
